One thing I love about this chilly snowy weather is 100% the snow days - lazing about in front of the telly when its minus whatever degrees outside.
The magical way the snow falls from the sky.
Pretty, yet treacherous.
Although I do admit the weather does tend to get pretty tedious - at some points anyway. Especially when it lasts for weeks.
I decided to go with this thick knit dress, as pinafores and check patterns have been very much on trend this season. I do usually layer this up with my black high neck knitted jumper - which is probably the more sensible option.
But that's pretty boring huh?
So I decided to add a bit more variety of colours to this 2 tone muted outfit.
These sleeves are made from a shirt like material, this is what gives them their structure. The joining of the shirt material to the cotton is done by a gathering technique. This is what makes the two different materials work so well together. Such a super cute simple top!!
My grey thick woollen coat is probably more suited for a more smart / formal occasion. But I love the length of this coat I decided it would keep my bottom and legs much more cosier!!
The funnel neck of this coat also adds that extra bit of cosiness. I love the little wee details which they added to this design. Including the smart folded over collar which can be closed with the small buckle they've added.
These River Islands boots ( not that you can see them very well, due to the covering of snow) seem to be my go-to footwear over these last few months. The height and comfort of the heel is just far too appealing.
Now my scarf - I used to be absolutely obsessed with scarfs. Yet over the last year or so I just never tend to wear them. I surprisingly picked this up in the F&F Tesco sale for a few pounds, it is such a versatile piece to finish off an outfit and it can be easily styled with a wide range of colours.
