We have been completely and utterly blessed with the sunny weather the last month or so. The sun in the north-east of Scotland doesn't usually tend to spoil us for this long anyway.
This just means my summer wardrobe hit me way earlier than expected and I've even seen myself wearing items specifically bought for upcoming holidays due to the scorching heat.
One item in particular was this white checked rushed cami. I do tend to find plain cami tops pretty dull and boring and I just cannot bear wearing them - this one was right up my street with the rushed centre which you can fix yourself and choose how gathered you want it. The split tie centre and peplum like float also adds a little something.
This outfit was based on comfort and simplicity for a day out shopping, these culotte jeans only being a recent purchase of mine have fairly been worn.
A lightweight jacket is all you need in weather like this. My white denim jacket is made of a lovely light crisp structured denim fabric, with a matte black button fasten running down the centre.
Due to previously achieving a higher national diploma in Textiles, I can completely admire and understand the process designers use to achieve such a quirky print.
The unique repeat pattern against the white background allows it to stand out.
I wore my black old school vans as I thought they corresponded well with my jacket as they both pick up the same colours of each other.
My Accessories -
My brown turtle patterned cat eye sunglasses are such a favourite of mine, I am just truly gutted I cant find a similar frame shape to get as prescription sunglasses. So I either have to rock these half blind or with a pair of contacts in which is such a pest. Although not as much as having to switch between my glasses and prescription sunglasses every time I walk in to a shop/ building trust me.
I've always been a fan of those wee white frilly top socks you get, so when I saw these baby pink fold over socks with a frill edge I couldn't resist. The embroidered strawberry detail adds such a cutesy factor to an overall outfit. Plus besides - who doesn't love strawberries. My pair of pink socks and purple bag adds a splash of colour to my outfit, I felt these were needed as I couldn't add much more pattern due to my monochrome jacket.
Backpacks are possibly the handiest bags ever to take shopping, I always try and stuff every single last purchase in to save me carrying hundreds of shopping bags.
This particular backpack is made of a super smooth purple metallic crackle material with a quilted front pocket and a silver logo zip. It's possibly one of the most gorgeous sparkly material which just shimmers in the sun beautifully and adds a bit of glamour to your outfit.
One thing I really like about this bag is that it has a zip to get into the main pocket. You tend to see a lot of backpacks with just those pulley toggles and a clasp, which is fairly easy for someone to get into - compared to a zip fasten feeling a little more secure. At the top of each side, there is also buttons which allows the bag to extend making it slightly bigger. Having a little separate handle as well as the 2 shoulder straps makes it even more practical. It is just such a nifty and adaptable wee backpack.
